Making Events Truly Family-Friendly

Join Us

Parent's Corner is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit mobile service dedicated to making public events more accessible, comfortable, and inclusive for families across Northeast Connecticut.

We believe families shouldn’t have to choose between attending community events and meeting their most basic needs. Something as simple as a clean place to change a diaper, breastfeed, pump, or take a quiet break can completely change how families experience public spaces—and whether they attend at all.

Parent's Corner exists to make sure families feel welcomed, supported, and seen.

Support, Trust, Growth

For many families, the lack of basic support at public events is the reason they leave early—or don’t attend at all. Parents Corner has shown that when these supports are available, families stay longer, feel more comfortable, and are better able to participate fully in their community.

Our presence doesn’t just support parents—it strengthens events, boosts vendor engagement, and helps communities become more inclusive for everyone.

Families caring for infants, toddlers, children with disabilities, or those with sensory sensitivities benefit especially from these services. What may seem like a small accommodation can make an enormous difference.

Jessica Gervais

Founder/CEO

As an entrepreneur and mother of two, she experienced firsthand the challenges parents face finding clean, welcoming spaces in public. Determined to make a difference, she founded Parent’s Corner — a labor of love born from her desire to support families like her own. Today, her vision is growing into a nonprofit devoted to creating more inclusive, family-friendly spaces in every community.

Bret Bussey

Brent has been a quiet but unwavering force behind Parent’s Corner since the very beginning. Over the last two years, he has been Jessica’s champion—showing up in every way a partner, parent, and community supporter can. From building websites, securing domains, and navigating the maze of nonprofit registrations to writing grants and handling the behind‑the‑scenes tech that keeps Parent’s Corner running, Brent has been there for every step.

At events, he’s the one setting up and breaking down the tent when Jessica couldn’t, stepping in to give her a breather, or bringing the baby to her so she could breastfeed without missing a moment. His support has been both practical and deeply personal.

Parent’s Corner is, at its heart, a labor of love—and Brent’s dedication reflects that love in action. Together, he and Jessica have built something that strengthens families because it was built by a family.

Our Journey Begins

Parent's Corner was founded by Jessica Gervais, a mom who experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to attend public events without access to basic caregiving support.

While visiting local fairs with her young children, Jessica repeatedly ran into the same challenges: no changing tables, no private spaces to breastfeed or pump, and nowhere to take a quiet moment when little ones became overwhelmed. Like many parents, she often found herself returning to the car or leaving events early—not because she wanted to, but because the support simply wasn’t there.

Rather than accepting this as the norm, Jessica decided to change the experience for families in her community.

What began as a small, mobile setup quickly revealed something much bigger: the need was widespread, and families were eager for solutions. At major local events, Parent's Corner served hundreds of families in a single weekend, often with lines of caregivers waiting to use the space. In some cases, the impact was so clear that event venues installed permanent changing tables after seeing the demand firsthand.

As word spread, families began seeking out Parent's Corner at events, and organizers, businesses, and Chambers of Commerce started requesting the service for more and more community gatherings. Parents stayed longer, felt more comfortable, and were better able to fully participate in events alongside their families.

Today, Parent's Corner continues to grow—not because families are asking for something extra, but because they are asking for what should have been there all along. To meet this demand, we are working toward expanding our mobile infrastructure with purpose-built trailers that allow us to serve more families, more inclusively, and more consistently throughout the year.

Our goal is simple but powerful: to make family-friendly infrastructure a standard part of public events, so no parent has to choose between caring for their child and being part of their community.
